Blue Portrait is a site-specific ceramic mosaic created for the interior of a sushi restaurant. The
work is composed of handmade ceramic tiles that were fired and individually broken by hand by the
artist. The mosaic surface reveals both the material qualities of ceramic and its direct relationship
with the architectural wall.
Developed through a figurative portrait, the work is conceived not as an autonomous object but as an
integrated architectural surface. Its scale and placement were determined in response to the spatial
context, emphasizing surface, volume, and rhythm in the viewer's encounter with the work.
